I stop reading now at page 86 in spite of being in love with Valentine's character descriptions, which are so detailed and so closely observed that I believe the author must have known most of these people - especially Pansy and Norman - personally. The setting is very bleak, uncomfortable and depressing though, and the story - albeit an unpredictable mystery -, doesn't draw me in at all. I will look out for future publications by this author, because she has talent and because I liked [b:Broken Soup|2499237|Broken Soup|Jenny Valentine|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61qk8xxpjrL._SL75_.jpg|2506561] much better.
